We intended to begin the month of July by traveling to the south of Europe. Our hearts have been in Italy for years, so check out this blog and discover my Leica photographs on my gastronomic and Italian delights tour.

There will be no Harleys on the road, but instead a BMW 3-Touring hybrid with enough room for the entire family. Let’s have some fun together. We left the home at 1:00 a.m. in Belgium. Our first stop would be at Riva Del Garda in Trentino, Italy. A 1000-kilometer road trip to the beautiful Dolomites.

5 years ago, I rode my first International MTB marathon in Riva. The mountain bike event, known as the bike festival, was 90 kilometers long with a 2800-meter height increase. Even though I was suffering on my bike, I appreciated the setting and surroundings.

Garda Lake is a very peaceful place to sit; it is not an ocean, but it gives the same calm ambiance. The icing on the cake is getting an Italian coffee along the lake, which I adore.

We arrived at lunchtime, and with temperatures approaching 30 degrees, we knew the heat would be on. Some photos of the gorgeous surroundings.

As you can see, the beaches are hardly overcrowded. Many people’s vacations have yet to begin, so the huge invasion has yet to arrive on European roadways.

It would not be a long stay in Garda Lake. We would merely go to see some friends who were camping nearby and have a great time together.
Friends and Italian cuisine are a fantastic fit for me. Some photos of the nightlife in Riva.

It was time to close the eyes after a delicious supper. With barely 1u30 of sleep, it had been a hard day. We needed to recharge the battery before continuing on our journey. So we did get some rest.

I was awake at 6 a.m., eager to watch the sun rise over the Dolomites mountains. The birds taking in the scenery provided a stunning sight.

We entered the old city area of Riva as the day began and city life came to life. That site is special to me since it transports me back in time. The little cottages and streets give a real Italian atmosphere.

After seeing the city and drinking the exquisite Italian coffee, it was time to continue our journey to Lombardia, Italy. A three-hour trip into the Italian countryside.

Check out the following blog to see the Lombardia scenery.
