Making the transition to the new Hasselblad 907X.
It has been some time since my last blog post, but there were reasons for this delay. I encountered a significant issue with the website and needed to ensure that it was resolved correctly to avoid any malware.
Today, we have resolved the issue and restored the old website layout to keep you informed. However, the most significant news is yet to come, and not all that happened in the last few weeks was negative.
As indicated in the title above. My childhood dream became a reality. After many tests, I almost convinced myself to buy a third Leica M series camera. However, I continued to contemplate the Hasselblad, as it seemed like an opportunity that required careful consideration. One thing was clear: I didn’t want to invest in the latest camera gear. The newest Hasselblad X2D series did not enhance my enjoyment of photography. The desire has always been to return to the roots, which is film. However, due to current constraints, I am unable to do so. The perfect opportunity, however, came with the Hasselblad 907X series.
MIX AND MATCH TO CREATE YOUR OWN SYSTEM.
The CFV II 50C digital back can be paired with most Hasselblad V System cameras made from 1957 onwards, as well as technical cameras. This makes it easy to combine analog and digital shooting. When combined with the 907X camera body, the photographer gains access to the entire XCD Lens range, providing autofocus and autoexposure.
The CFV II 50C celebrates Hasselblad’s design-centric heritage with a timeless look. It features a similar form factor, leatherette cover, and chrome edges as the original V System film magazines. Coupling the digital back with Hasselblad’s smallest medium format camera body ever, the 907X, creates a very sleek and compact package. The 907X and CFV II 50C combine modern technology with classic aesthetics reminiscent of the Hasselblad SWC camera. This nod to Hasselblad’s history is paired with the renowned image quality the brand is known for.

From the first moment, I fell in love with the camera. The handle is classic and makes me want to take it everywhere to capture images of whatever I see. This is what passion is all about. The first image captured in the capital of the city Lier.
The images were captured in colour but have been converted to black and white. No other manipulations have been made to the images. The camera’s vintage aesthetic is appealing. The previous Hasselblad test had 100 megapixels, while this one has only 50 megapixels. Here are images captured at the same location for comparison. Do you notice it?
The difference in megapixels is not noticeable without close inspection of the images. The images produced by the new Leica lacked the flair and soul I was looking for, which is why I chose not to purchase it. The handling remained unchanged, but the number of megapixels was significantly increased and doubled. However, the essence of the images was lost.
I believe that images should speak for themselves. In this particular case, I find that the Hasselblad is a great match.
I ordered the grip with the camera, which is currently on backorder. I am looking forward to using it. From the outset, I had a great connection with the camera, especially when used in conjunction with the Peak Design carbon tripod. As capturing images requires time, it brings a sense of peace to the mind and helps to forget about busy times and work. Some additional images…
And once again, there is no use of Photoshop, only black and white has been applied. But capture in the famous Hasselblad Xpan settings.
I bought the Hasselblad XCD 45mm F/4.0 P and Hasselblad XCD 65mm F/2.8 lenses along with the camera. This is just the beginning. There will be more lenses coming, but for now, let’s focus on the 65mm lens. It brings 50mm in reality because it is a medium format camera.
It provides all the features I was looking for, and there is still much to discover in terms of camera and photographic work.
A childhood dream has come true and I am grateful for the opportunities it brings. I would like to express my gratitude to Grobet Antwerp for their invaluable assistance in my search. We have been working together for over 12 years, and I look forward to continuing our collaboration.
