On an excursion in Greece.

This is the time of year when many people take their long-awaited family vacations out of town. So did I. It was time to recharge the batteries, and we chose Kreta, Greece, as our destination. Just a short 7-day vacation to enjoy the weather, beautiful blue beaches, and delicious cuisine. Let us hope that our aspirations are not too great, as my heart has always been in Italy—my second nation of origin.

We took a different route for the holidays because my battery was dead. Usually, I drive almost 1200 kilometres to the south of Europe with my automobile, but not this time. We boarded a three-hour flight from Rotterdam Airport. I’d had a fantastic experience with Transavia before, and this was again nicely organised. The captain was set to take off when we were informed of a 45-minute delay due to too many planes in the air. So it’s time to pick up a book.

We arrived in Greece Crete after some time, and with a nice sunny evening, we were more than eager to begin our Greece trip. We rented a vehicle and began the one-hour trip to Enagron Ecotourism Village near Axos. After passing through some heavy industrial districts, the environment begins to reveal itself, and it is clear that we have arrived in the country of the stones and really lovely olive trees.

With varied climates across the world, it is more than likely that one of the most uncomfortable aspects is a lack of water. But I must say that the plants blooming at the bio farm are beautiful and vibrant.

The farm includes an olive museum, which displays all of the equipment used to manufacture olive oil in the past. It’s incredible to observe this and realise how it was created so long ago.

The serene ecotourism site has a lovely infinity pool overlooking the mountains and rocks. It’s fascinating to watch vultures circle in the sky. In terms of cuisine, the area has its restaurant built in the small villages using local products, and every day a meal is created from vegetables grown by the locals. Even feta and other goat cheeses are fresh and local.

The sun had already set on our first day, and it was shining brightly over the rocky mountain ranges. A long-anticipated vacation has finally come. A first night spent resting among the olive trees and cacti We’re excited to replenish our batteries and spend time with the great Greek people.

I consider myself fortunate to be present!

Enjoy everything Mother Nature has to offer!

Thank you
