The water relieves me!

Sometimes a little break in the middle of the day is all that is required. I took an hour away from my other business, grabbed my two wheels, and hit the road to shoot some Leica shots since the clouds made for a beautiful sky image.

I live near enormous sand mining activities, as I indicated in my last blog article. I decided to explore the surrounding region and see what was going on at the lake.

Mol Rauw – the lake near t’Kristalijn

The sand pits and woodlands of ‘t Rauw may be found in Mol-Rauw, on the border with Lommel. The sand pits are historic sand quarries where quartz, sometimes known as Molse white sand, was extracted. They were turned into a natural reserve on the initiative of the sand mining business Sibelco. One of the sand pits connects to the natural reserves of De Maat near Mol and the Blauwe Kei in Lommel. It is a site where hikers may completely appreciate the region in both winter and summer. There is a lovely huge inland lake with a diverse range of wildlife and plants.

Mol Rauw – Kristalijn

‘t Kristallijn, which also offers an exhibition hall nearby, regularly presents exceptional events. There’s also the Quartz Experience Center, where you can learn more about the area’s quartz mining. During your tour, you will be led to a mineral treasure room, a production room, a little lab with tests, a quiz room, and different displays and screens that will provide you with further text, photographs, and explanations about the factory’s history and the quartz mining in the region.

The photos and the sun flare on the exhibition building were a lovely time to capture.

I’ve ridden my bicycle through this location several times, and it always provides spectacular sights and, more importantly, a peaceful mind. I just drove 10 minutes from my house to this stunning site, and I consider myself quite fortunate to be surrounded by such natural beauty.

I may pass through here at any time and always take a different shot, exploring additional natural places and witnessing animals and plants in their many seasons. It is pretty relaxing to spend some time near the water during stressful times. Water has a therapeutic impact on both the mind and the body. For me, the tranquillity and sound of the wind on the lake provide calm to my spirit.

That is why air and water are referred to be the components of life. With the gorgeous sun shining brightly, this small hour was a fantastic part of the day!

Make every day count and don’t forget to take your moments!

Take care
