The Seaview
My 600km ride part three
I had a great night at my camping place in the city of Brugges. My little tent is wonderful, superlight but very comfortable. I was looking forward to getting my stuff together and jump on my bike. My road trip would be a 230km ride direction of home.
I promised myself to have a visit to the Belgian sea. My departure would be in Brugges and continue my road to The Netherlands. I would pass the small city’s of Cadzand, the Breskens, and others.
I first passed the seaport of Zeebrugge before having a Belgian sea visit. One big railway is built next to a new highway. It is also the capital of vehicle transport. All the cars on the mega parking are sold and are waiting to get transported to the new owner all over the world. The parking is enormous but I noticed that not many cars are there to get transported. In the photos, you see new Landrovers getting transported to a container ship. The other photo shows empty parking. I guess corona also gave the global industry hard times.
Entering Zeebrugge gave me the smell of the sea. It was a nice feeling to have that strong wind on my face. Never expected me to be at the sea driven by an Italian motorcycle. I did take some images entering the Belgian Seaforce of Zeebrugge.
I continued my road to Knokke and the beautiful nature park Het Zwin. The park was very impressive to watch. I had the opportunity to capture storks on photos. Incredible views and silence forced me to stand still at all this beauty. This is the link to the park if you want to bring it a visit. Link
The air was very clouded, it didn’t look like rain would come out of the sky. The clouds made the scenery look dramatic and gave the photos extra dimension. Luck and the sun were on my side. I went to the border of Belgium and entered The Netherlands and its beautiful beaches. Quiet roads and enjoying to wide views gave me a happy feeling.
Passing the flat landscape with the war bunkers still shown in the grass fields brings another feeling to the table. I can imagine people running to the concrete to keep themselves alive in these horrible conditions. It gave me goosebumps and a feeling I hope these times will never enter the world again.
Entering the little city of Breskens was another story. Nearly a completely new rebuild city with a small harbor had its elegance. Pictures show the beaches.
My Guzzi did bring me for many kilometers onto the roads of the Polders. It felt like freedom and I was rewarded with amazing wide views.
Feeling blessed with great weather, inspiring landscapes, a lot of history, and amazing views. I am more than happy with this adventure. I spend nearly 600km on my Italian horse and I hope there is more to come. This is the start of many adventures and looking forward to shooting images on my road.
