The park of the prince.

There is a nature/hiking park not far from our home. The park is called Prince Park and is located in Retie, Belgium. You have the possibility to hike different distances. My wife and I started our hiking adventure at the historical place of Sas 6. It is a very authentic pub with a great atmosphere. A two-kilometer hiking trail connects the pub with the nature park in Retie.

The meaning of shipping lock (sas in Dutch). It brings ships to two different levels of water.

Some images I shot.

After our two-kilometer hike, we arrived in the nature park. It has been a long time since I visited the park. I love the view of the trees of the forest, they are very imposing. The sun was out and it delivered a great atmosphere in the forest. I could not resist capturing this moment.

In the middle of the park is a gigantic lake. The sun gave a beautiful reflection on the water. With some clouds in the air, it created a wonderful black and white image. I hope you do agree with this.

The images I took are not photoshopped. It is the moment which I captured and just put some more contrast and highlights on. You just get what I saw and I have to admit I do love the view.

During our hike, we had the luck to have squirrels, buzzards, ducks & herons in front of us. We enjoyed the silence and have been blessed with the animals we did meet on our hike. We finished it where we did start, at the authentic pub.

We ended our hike with a draft beer. The pub serves fresh pie daily. When you see the image below you can see that it was hard to resist this authentic cherry pie ;-).

When you want to visit this authentic pub, you can check the next link for more info. https://www.sas6.be If you want to do this hike yourself, you can check the next link, Prince park.

Grateful for a nice day and beauty we had in front of us, we drove home. Looking forward to capturing more of these moments.
