Postel enters the night.

I could go on and on about Mol’s natural park in Postel, Belgium. It is a place where I can escape reality. Some think it’s nothing remarkable, which is OK, but it has something special for me.

I had some difficult days at work. I am a healer and reading therapist, and I have always done my best to help people ease their suffering and feel better.
I always go outside to reconnect with Mother Earth to refresh my batteries. I visit nature preserves and allow myself to be surrounded by animals in their natural habitats. It’s a lovely moment, and I’m glad I was able to catch it on film.

It’s 20:30 in the evening. The setting sun creates a lovely sight in the natural park. In photography, this is referred to as the golden hour. I hope you can see why they name it that in the photographs below.

As I continue my journey into the wilderness, I come across a newborn roe deer. I didn’t want to scare her, so I kept a low profile to avoid disturbing the animals in their natural environment. The mother deer approached me around 3 meters behind me. What a privilege to be so close to them and welcomed into their world. More animals come out to see the grassland as the sun sets.

I continued on my quest, anticipating being surprised in the woods. A large roe deer appears out of nowhere and jumps into the lovely green forest. I had a sense something was up because she was acting so nervously.

Then I saw why: wild boars were prowling the grasslands. I never got to see them in their native environment. As I got closer, I noticed something that stole my breath away. A female wild boar with her young was just next to them. Five baby brown boars ventured onto a grassy meadow to acquire survival skills from their mother.

I resumed my walking after being stunned by this view. The sun had already set, and fog had slipped into the woods, creating a dramatic sight.

Crossing the woods in the dark to go to my car makes you feel even more connected to the environment. You can hear things vanishing everywhere in the woods, and you can feel untamed nature awakening.
It’s an incredible opportunity to witness something like this.

It’s all right in front of us; we only have to open our eyes to see it!
