Into Nuclear Pathways.

Mol, Belgium, has long been known for its nuclear power plant. They also produced nuclear energy tablet units for France. Several of these facilities have been dismantled in recent years, and production has ceased.

It remains a big area. It has been reclassified as a natural reserve, and new structures have been constructed in these areas.
I intended to start my Sunday with a 10-kilometer walk. I started my walk to the nuclear area from home with my four-legged pal Luca. Our golden retriever couldn’t wait to get started.
After 1 kilometer, we arrive at the wooded hiking trails, which I adore. We arrive to the fifteen chapels. It always transports me to another era.

14 identical chapels were built in 1815. The largest chapel, the 15th, was built in the 18th century. In 2004, the Stations of the Cross and chapels were entirely refurbished.

I resumed my journey to the nature preserve near the power plant. Walking my dog across the grass fields with the sun shining brightly brought a smile to my face.

Although the massive power station is no longer operational, some sporting clubs affiliated with the nuclear power plant from years ago still exist. One of these is the Nuclea golf. It is a 9-hole golf course on many hectares of nuclear facility property. Among other things, there is Nuclea fish and a tennis club.

The picture in the lower right corner depicts a lovely lake. It was constantly utilized to cool the power plant, and it always retained a comfortable temperature throughout the winter. Large fish have been sighted here as a result of this.

We’re approximately 4 kilometres down the road when we reach the canals. We have several water locks in this region that let boats get from one sector of the water to another. Authentic tiny bars are usually situated close to these contractions. One of these is known as Sas 6.

Do you prefer a fresh beer or a Trappist of the tab at a tiny and highly caustic establishment? This is the spot to go for a daily fresh homemade pie or even fresh Ottolenghi meals. https://www.sas6.be/

When we got to the bar, we were about 5 kilometres away. We had no alternative but to continue our journey home when the pub unfortunately closed. Another 5 kilometres to go, and my big companion was having a great time next to me. It was a true “Sun”day with my Leica on my neck and the sun on my side.

Such days are priceless, and having the affection of my four-legged buddy close by dispels all my worries. I am thankful for these beautiful fall days.

It is all about enjoying life with everything you have, and love for each other is one of the most valuable things.

I am wishing you a nice day!
