Experience the breathtaking sunset and diverse wildlife in Postel.

I was immediately drawn to the idea of revisiting the nature park in Postel. It’s been some time since my last visit, and I’m eager to witness how the park transforms with the ever-changing weather. The weather in the area shifts swiftly, from heavy rain to tropical temperatures in a matter of moments.

This park is part of a special European protection zone with unique conservation objectives, aiming to restore the heathland landscape and historic fens. The transformation of coniferous forests into a diverse mix of coniferous and deciduous forest, along with the presence of grazing cattle and horses, ensures that the area remains open and thriving.

An exciting feature of this park is the Round Put, a magnet for various bird species, including birds of prey and waterfowl, as well as special animals such as moor frogs, slow worms, viviparous lizards, and dragonflies.

Fueled by curiosity and a touch of restlessness, I found myself venturing into the forest at 5 in the morning, eager to witness the fascinating daily routine of wildlife and nature coming to life.

As I checked my mobile, I saw that the sun would rise around 6 in the morning, giving me the opportunity to leisurely enjoy the beauty of the morning. One of the first things I encountered was a stunning sight: a deer peacefully grazing on grass in the midst of the fog.

As I continued my hike towards the Ronde Put and its stunning waters, the rapidly changing colors of the sky urged me to quicken my pace. Suddenly, a sight caught my eye – wild boars in the grassy fields. It was truly amazing to witness these creatures in their natural habitat. As I approached, I noticed even more activity – six small wild boars diligently tending to the grassy fields. I carefully captured some close-up pictures, respecting their habits and space.

I was delighted to capture these wonderful wildlife images using the Canon R3 with a 300mm F2.8 lens and 1.2 extender.

As I continued my hike toward the water, I was captivated by the gradual emergence of the sun’s radiant light. In order to immortalize these exquisite moments, I chose to wield my Hasselblad 907 along with the Hasselblad 50mm F2.8 lens, as they enable me to capture the finest details in my photographs.

Today, I encountered some challenges with the Hasselblad 907. The camera experienced occasional technical issues, requiring me to remove and reinsert the battery to resume shooting. This process was time-consuming and frustrating, especially when I needed quick access to my camera. As a result, I opted to use my Leica M10 with the 24mm lens for a more efficient shooting experience.

Working with the Leica M series is an absolute delight. This camera feels amazing in hand, and the image quality and color balance are truly exceptional.

Returning to my Hasselblad allowed me to capture even more intricate details in the image. Take a look at the next shots to witness the stunning level of detail.

As the sun rose and warmed the nature reserve, I completed my hike feeling inspired. Using my array of camera gear, I captured the scenic transformation. It had been too long since I indulged in my passion for photography; I yearned for that creative outlet. Creativity fuels me, sparking my energy and igniting my enthusiasm for new beginnings.

My mind is already brimming with ideas for my next film endeavors.
