Because I am unable to walk far due to a difficult fracture sustained a year ago, I began my day with a short morning walk. I intended to go into the forest near Zilvermeer Recreation Park. (Zilvermeer is near to a nature reserve.)
I dove right into the swampy, dripping wet forest. My attention was drawn to the birds gliding by in a magnificent V-shape above me. This moment of capture is portrayed in the photo below. Despite the moisture of the forest, I felt a strong connection with it.
Nature was alive and well, although it was winter. There was life all around me, and I could hear the birds singing. When I notice and feel this in the forest, I always feel blessed and connected to Mother Earth. I’m glad for these moments, and even more so for the opportunity to capture them on camera.
As you can see by the colors in the photos, I was feeling the same way when I took them. I had a warm, energizing feeling. Due to the rain, which converted the hiking pathways into little rivers, it was difficult to stay on track. To keep your feet dry, wooden pieces were placed over the water, but many of them were ruined after years of standing in the rain.
I shot a small wooden track in the shape of a Z between the bushes. It’s a fantastic perspective, especially with the magnificent green colors rising.
As I approached an open area in the nature park, I observed a large white object standing close to a tree. A white heron was the enormous white object. I paused for a second to grab this sight. He left because I wanted to take another lens to shoot on film. It was a pity. However, witnessing the heron fly with his huge wings flapping in the breeze made me smile.
It was as if I was witnessing nature in all of its grandeur. I was able to record some images of mushrooms on some of the water parts, which provided a nice contrast to the dark wood. I adore the photograph, and I hope you do as well…

A short trek in the woods. It just took a few moments for me to discover beauty and serenity just a few minutes from my residence. Nature welcomed me and embraced me with vibrant sights and animals displaying their talents.
The beauty is right in front of our eyes. We only have to ask for it, and nature will provide it when she sees fit. Respect is required because they want peace and no garbage to be left behind, as I have seen in some locations.
Our children will have a safe and toxic-free environment if we all attempt to keep it clean.
Thank you very much.
