Some months ago I started my 2nd chapter in photography. I worked for many years with Nikon and Canon and I really wanted a completely new direction. I really love black and white photography, it always brings a soul in a picture. Having purchased my first Leica camera some months ago, there has been a new world opening up.

There is one sentence that is spot on! “Less is more!” And this is all it. Having no autofocus system and fewer buttons brings everything back to the basics of photography. Not a camera that does everything for you. But taking the time to take that photo to have perfection! It is nearly meditation. Taking the first pictures with my M10 showed me amazing image quality.

But there was a feeling that I wanted to take it one step more. First I was thinking to get back to cameras with film. To have that special grain effect in the images. After looking around what options there are in the market it was clear that I wanted to stick with digital photography. But I wanted to have more soul in the pictures. I also wanted to step it up with some extra lenses and especially in 1.4. These lenses or very heavily priced but give incredible depth of field in a photo. Having an older camera ( 9 years old ) to test some lenses, I found where the old flair was coming from…

The Leica Monochrome from 2013 was the body that I wanted to have extra to bring that soul in images when it needs to. Below is the first picture, I took with it!

The picture is taken with a Leica Monochrome from 2013. The lens is Leica Summicron 50mm F2.

I think I don’t need to say more. Feeling blessed with this opportunity to purchase this camera brings a smile to my face. I know this will bring me to the pictures I want and need to take in the near future.

Soul in photography – brings me to your Energetic Photographic Art.

Thank you, Leica, and your incredible quality and reliability.
