For most of my life, the world has looked best from between two wheels. It started on the BMX track, but the real obsession took hold at age 11 when I got into motocross. Watching the World Championships with my dad and feeling the roar of the bikes up close instilled a permanent need for speed and freedom.
That fast life came to a terrifying halt at 15. A bad crash left me with multiple back injuries and, briefly, the sensation that my legs were gone forever. I was incredibly lucky the feeling returned, and I swore off competitive racing entirely. But while I quit the sport, I never cured the addiction.
It’s a passion that sticks to your soul. When I see a bike, I’m instantly drawn to it, analyzing every mod and change a person has made. The scent of burnt fuel from an exhaust pipe isn’t just a smell—it’s a powerful, nostalgic feeling that instantly makes me happy.
My return to riding started with my Vespa, a great companion for cruising the town streets (as I mentioned in my last post). But my ultimate goal isn’t to ride around town; it’s to ride out of it. I want to chase horizons, capture special places, and connect with people hundreds of kilometers away. The Vespa felt unsafe for the long-distance adventures I crave.
Some more images from old BMW motorcycles…
It’s time for an upgrade that matches my ambition. There’s a new Italian two-wheeler heading my way—a machine built for the open road—and I am already planning the first big trip. The next chapter of my two-wheeled life is about to begin.
Thank you
